Episode Synopsis
In “Enter the Kill Zone,” the *Global Showdown* teams push deeper into South Africa as hunger, injuries, and the leaderboard begin reshaping the competition. Dan’s back injury leaves USA Pacific in trouble, with no food and Rachel forced to carry more of the survival load. She searches through animal dung for bugs to use as bait and keeps trying to fish, but broken lines and Dan’s frustration turn their camp into an emotional grind.
At the top, USA East continues to hold the strongest position, with Matt and Gabriella using their earned tools to hunt dangerous ground filled with rhinos, nyala, and warthogs. Australia remains close behind but struggles with wind ruining Ky’s hunting attempts, while USA South tries to climb back into contention by finishing their bridge and gaining access to better hunting land. Frank and Teal earn key points, but their communication issues continue to simmer.
The episode’s momentum shifts when Texas finally turns its lower ranking into a major advantage. With access to the bridge, bow, and arrows, Jeff shoots a warhog, follows the blood trail, and lands the season’s first big kill. The meat changes everything for Texas, but also brings danger as rangers warn them about hyenas. Jeff and Kerra rush to process, smoke, and protect the meat before nightfall as hyenas begin circling camp.
Soon after, the hunting floodgates open. Frank kills a massive warthog for USA South, giving his team a huge food boost, while Matt also brings down a warthog for USA East after a tense track and final kill shot. With Texas, USA South, and USA East suddenly eating well, the divide between fed and starving teams grows sharper. Brazil and Mexico fight to stay out of the elimination zone, with Brazil gaining ground by finishing their bridge and Mexico struggling near the bottom.
By day seven, the next challenge arrives: an arapuca bird trap inspired by the Tupi-Guarani people of Brazil. Teams must first dig through rhino dung for tiny flame tree seeds to use as bait, then build delicate pyramid-style traps from layered sticks and paracord. USA East gets both baskets built first, but USA South pulls ahead in the final trigger-and-bait phase to win the challenge and earn two ostrich eggs. USA Pacific takes second, giving them needed breathing room with Dan still hurt.
The race for third becomes chaotic as Texas, Brazil, Australia, and USA East all fight to finish. Texas looks strong early, but their trap falls apart late, opening the door for Brazil to grab third. USA East finishes fourth, Australia fifth, Texas sixth, and Mexico last. The result drops Texas and Mexico into the first elimination challenge, while the leaderboard ends with USA South in first at 500 points, followed by USA East at 430, Australia at 410, USA Pacific at 300, Brazil at 250, Texas at 230, and Mexico at 200.
