Episode Synopsis

In “The Lost Coast’s Revenge,” the episode picks back up with Jamie Frizzell still in agony after being barbed by a stingray. The current groups are the five-person beach camp with Ana Lis Pitter, Darrin Reay, Malu Beyonce, Adam Kavanagh, and Amanda Wilson; the four-person beach camp with Patrick French, Allison Frueh, Dani Beau, and Jamie; and Jarrell Banks still on his own after splitting from Dani and Jamie.

Hours after the stingray attack, Jamie is still in immense pain. The medic checks him and says his vitals are okay, so he can stay if he wants. The pain is likely at its peak and should start going down, but the swelling in his foot raises concern. Jamie has been medically tapped on two previous challenges and does not want that to happen again, so he tries to ride it out.

On day 26, the five-person beach camp has not had any luck fishing for the past two days. Overall, the group is working well together, with everyone doing camp craft while also trying to find food. But tension starts to show when Malu says Ana Lis is not pulling her weight with chores around camp.

While Jamie recovers, Dani and Patrick go looking for conch and manage to collect a few, along with a goby fish. Patrick also makes good on his promise to bring food back to Jarrell, delivering some conch to his solo camp. The medic checks Jamie again because the swelling raises concerns about infection and even sepsis. For now, Jamie is allowed to stay, but the key is whether the swelling begins to subside.

At the five-person camp, Ana Lis goes out bowfishing while Adam and Darrin work on building a crab, lobster, and fish trap. But the concerns about Ana Lis’s camp effort continue. Even Amanda says she has never seen Ana Lis boil a pot of water, adding to the feeling that some members are carrying more of the daily survival work than others.

On day 27, Jamie tries to help by getting water because he hates lying around while everyone else works. But his foot looks worse: the wound is leaking badly, the foot is turning red, and infection becomes the central concern. The medic returns, examines him again, and decides the risk is too high. Jamie is medically tapped, making this his fifth challenge overall: two completions and three medical taps. Dani is crushed to lose her buddy.

The tension at the five-person camp also boils over. Ana Lis mocks the requests for her to be more helpful, and Amanda is not having it. The women have a powwow while Adam and Darrin get out of the way and head out on the raft. Amanda tells Ana Lis directly that she is working hard in her own way, but not contributing to camp like the rest of the team. The group wants her to be more aware of the shared chores, but Ana Lis does not like hearing it.

Meanwhile, Jarrell packs up “Relly’s Ranch” and begins his trek to find the other teams. He stuffs resources into his life preserver and wears it like a backpack, then takes apart an old lantern to try to carry hot coals. The glass explodes after he adds the coals, but he keeps moving anyway. Three hours in, the hike is brutal — thorny, rocky, steep, full of wildlife sounds, and made harder by carrying all his gear and trying to protect his fire.

When he stops to rest in a dry riverbed, Jarrell realizes his fire has gone out. He had kept it alive for seven days and has no firestarter, so he has no choice but to continue. Four hours into the trek, he comes across the bamboo aqueduct system and follows it down to the five-person camp, where he finds Malu, Darrin, Adam, Amanda, and Ana Lis.

The new camp is cautious at first. Malu recognizes Jarrell from his previous episode as sassy and rude, and Jarrell explains his version of the fighting with Dani. Darrin says he has his own history with Dani from a previous challenge and is inclined to understand Jarrell’s side. The group remains skeptical until Jarrell hands out bananas, which helps soften the mood. Jarrell wants to bring everyone back to the other camp so they can combine maps. With only a week left, they need to reach the other side of the island and prepare for rescue, and Darrin wants to leave the next day.

On day 28, Patrick goes back out spear hunting along the coast while Dani worries about the possibility of running into Jarrell again. Patrick and Allison do not have the same problem with him, but for Dani, the conflict became too personal. At the other camp, Adam asks Malu and Ana Lis to leave their own squabbles behind and not bring them into the next location.

The full group begins the hike toward Patrick, Allison, and Dani’s camp, but Ana Lis struggles badly, and Malu struggles too. Everyone slows the pace to accommodate them. Malu says the trek is the hardest thing she has ever done in her life and is grateful to have Adam behind her.

At the same time, Patrick, Allison, and Dani head to Jarrell’s old camp to harvest taro and firewood. Dani complains about the condition he left the camp in, but Patrick disagrees. Jarrell and the others are still about two miles away, and he is excited to show up and see the look on Dani’s face.

After about three hours of hiking, Jarrell and the larger group arrive at the old camp, but Allison and Dani are already on their raft heading back to the beach. Patrick returns and finds everyone there. He is excited and welcoming, especially when he sees Darrin. Patrick and Darrin are buddies and are thrilled to reconnect. Jarrell is also happy to hear that Jamie has been tapped out.

Patrick heads back to the beach ahead of the others to warn Dani that Jarrell is coming. Dani says she does not want Jarrell at the beach, but Patrick tells her he cannot stop him. Dani asks the camera crew not to film her interaction with Jarrell, and a producer is called in. Rather than face the reunion, Dani decides to tap out. She leaves without even saying goodbye to Allison and takes her own survival supplies with her.

When Patrick arrives back at camp and finds Dani gone, he is not happy that she left without saying anything. Jarrell is glad his enemies are gone and that he has a new team. The larger group is happy to have finally come together, too. With Jamie medically tapped and Dani gone, the remaining eight survivalists now have the combined map pieces and a much clearer path toward the final push across the island.
