Darvil McBride grew up in Hesperia, California in a falconry family and earned the Eagle Scout award before serving as a volunteer LDS missionary in the Brazilian Amazon for two years. He appeared on Discovery's Naked and Afraid in the 2021 episode Naked and Afraid S13E2 "Two is a Crowd", set in Lapalala, South Africa. He is a world-champion spearfisherman and serves as Director of Watersports for the Hay Harbor Club on Fishers Island, New York.
