XL Season 4, subtitled "All-Stars," aired from May through July 2018 across ten episodes filmed in South Africa. The season assembled thirteen franchise veterans, including Melanie Rauscher, Kaila Cumings, Sarah Danser, Shane Lewis, Matt Wright, Trent Nielsen, Duck Campbell, Lacey Jones, Jeremy McCaa, Gary Golding, and Melissa Miller, for a 40-day challenge branded around the show's returning talent.

Notable entries include the opener "Hunted Humans," "Africa Strikes First," "To Hail and Back," "Burn Notice," the survivalists-vs-predator two-parter, and the finale "Fight To The Finish." The season is remembered for one of the franchise's most-cited hail-storm sequences in "To Hail and Back."
