Flesh and Fangs

Two returning survivalists Cole Wilks & Tori Huggins return for redemption - this time in the Florida Everglades. However, they were in for quite a suprise. Finding themselves in the backyard of Naked and Afraid Legend Matt Wright, he decides to join them on their 21 day challenge. To stay warm in the rainy Everglades, the team elects to build a palm frond A Frame shelter. With the heat, humidity and hard work, Tori suffers early dehyrdation and pukes. Cole finds some willow bark to use as asprin to help with Tori's headaches. Fire ants and mosquitos prove to be a problem at night in the shelter. To fight the insects, they burn the floor on the shelter to scare off the ants and keep a fire going to smoke out the mosquitos. However, the mosquitos remain a constant issue. Cole has serious mental struggles from the constant mosquitos. After contemplating tapping out, he gets reinvigorated from sucessfully hunting a pig. While exploring, the team finds an aligator in a pond and Matt teaches them how to hook the gator. They smoke the gator and use the fat to fry gator bites. A bear shows up at night so they decide to eat the food quickly. The team finds a second gator, this one on land. They pull it's tail, distract it with a stick and stab with a knife. Cole also shot a squirrel with a bow, Tori caught a snake with her bare hands, and they foraged for a healthy supply of oranges. Overall, aside from the bugs, with Matt Wright's help it was a challenge filled with food, but with lots of bugs.
