Naked and Afraid XL — Season 9

XL Season 9, subtitled "Frozen," aired in July and August 2022 across six episodes in the Montana Rockies, the coldest and shortest XL run to date. Twelve survivalists, including Ky Furneaux, Sara Burkett, Jake Nodar, Jeremy McCaa, Jermaine Jackson, Wes Harper, Rod Biggs, Trish Bulinsky, Waz Addy, and Sarah Bartell, took on the alpine environment for a compressed extended-format challenge.

Episode titles included "Rocky Road Ahead," "Stay with Me," "Hypothermic When Wet," "Snow Rest for the Weary," "Thin Air, Fat Chance," and the finale "Bear of a Finish." The Montana filming pushed the XL format into cold-weather survival territory the franchise had rarely occupied.
